Rottweiler pups get 10 new homes

New homes have been found for 10 Rottweiler puppies hand-reared by staff at an animal welfare centre in Glasgow.

The dogs were rejected by their mother, Tara, who had been handed over to the Scottish SPCA centre in Cardonald.

Tara gave birth to a 17 puppies, the biggest litter handled by the centre. Ten of them survived.

Anna O'Donnell, assistant manager at centre, said: "We know that they are all going to good, loving homes so it makes all our hard work worthwhile."

Staff worked round the clock, arranging special rotas to feed and care for the huge litter.

Ms O'Donnell added: "The puppies made great progress in the 10 weeks they were with us and their success is really down to the hard work and dedication of the staff who have been caring for them."
